Bill Warner's 272 MPH on a Turbo Hayabusa!
Bill Warner Builds a Funky Flier
Maxton played host as Bill Warner, a 41 year-old marine biologist from Florida, crushed the longstanding record of 260.288 mph (since 2005) in the standing mile. Riding a powerful first generation 'Busa, Bill determined that aerodynamics was the key to a big number and constructed the unique and controversial bodywork to help him achieve the substantial trap speed.
Originally, Bill was going to retire after breaking the record, but now he plans to return to Maxton where he hopes to "go a little faster."
